Submission Guidelines

You must be 18 or older to view the material on this web site. If you are under 18, or do not wish to view adult material, please leave now.

We happily consider all stories and poems, but only if they follow the guidelines as presented here. Please take the time to read this before submitting, as it will help us to stay legal and you see your work published on the Web much sooner.

By submitting a story to An Erotic Collection, you agree the following stipulations are true.

• You are the sole creator of the submission;
• You are 18 years of age or older and legally able to write, submit, and read erotic or pornographic material;
• You grant An Erotic Collection a non-exclusive right to publish your submission

Steps To Follow for Authors

1. Register as an author with An Erotic Collection. Remember, your author user name will be public, so choose your user name with this in mind. We require a valid email address so we, as well as readers, can communicate with you about your stories. Your email address is never displayed. The rest of the information on the Author Registration form is optional. This additional information is displayed on your individual site-generated author's page.

2. Write your story, using Notepad, Wordpad, Word, WordPerfect, or any other text editing software you might enjoy.

3. When submitting a story or a poem, a title, description, and category are required. A title can be 100 characters and a description can be 255 characters. We reserve the right to edit the title and description. The category is chosen from a drop down list. If you don't see an appropriate category, select the closest one and ask for a new category to be created in the notes section. Categories can have sub-categories. We want to categorize stories as accurately as we can for our readers.

4. We cannot publish stories involving bestiality or underage sexual activity. The minimum legal age is 18. However, you can write stories about supernatural beasts like ghosts, unicorns, or werewolves. This rule helps protect the site as well as the site owners from legal prosecution. This site is hosted in the United States, and follows all applicable United States laws.

5. We currently do not accept stories under 750 words. Poems can be shorter.

6. Before submitting your story, run it through a spell checker and read it over for anything the spellchecker missed before submitting. This should eliminate the majority of errors that might cause a story to be rejected. We expect stories to come to us ready for publication. Readers vote down or stop reading stories with obvious spelling and grammatical errors.

7. Please break your story into reasonably sized paragraphs. Reading on a screen is different from reading from a book or magazine, as the flicker from a computer monitor is tiring on the eyes. Excessively long paragraphs are hard to read.

8. All stories must be submitted as plain text through the Submit Story form. If your story includes bolds or italics, denote them in HTML format (<b>, </b> or <i>, </i>). Any other HTML, including links, will cause your story to be rejected. We do not accept stories submitted by email.

9. You have the choice as to whether or not readers can vote on your story. You can turn this option on or off for each of your stories in the Story Statistics section.

10. The date listed with the story in the story indexes is the submission date, not the reviewed date. If you would like the submitted date to be adjusted to match the submitted date of another story site, put the desired submitted date in the Notes section.

11. Stories are copyrighted in the name of the author. You must be the author of any story you submit.

Steps An Erotic Collection Follows

1. Each story is reviewed to make sure it follows the submission guidelines. If the story is accepted, it is published on the site, accessible to readers through the various story lists.

2. An Erotic Collection is a free erotic story site. As such, we cannot pay for stories. However, you get a site-generated author page with a list of your stories that you can link to from outside the site.

3. If you allow voting on your story, a summary like (9.15/34 votes) will be publicly listed with the story in the story indexes. The first number is the average vote, and the second is the number of votes. Ten votes are required before the summary will display.

   Only you as the author can see additional voting and viewing statistics on your stories. The viewing statistics are accumulated whether or not you've allowed voting on your story.
